Retromat CP
This standard flexible concrete stabilisation mattress is equipped with an integrated cathodic protection system based on multiple, interconnected small aluminium anodes cast directly into the concrete. The system is designed to provide cathodic protection for pipelines at crossings or in a multitude of unstable conditions.


As one of the largest foundries in Southeast Asia, Wasco is one of the first anode manufacturers in Asia to qualify for Shell's stringent DEP 37.81.20.31-EPP standard for deep water sacrificial anodes. To date, Wasco produces in excess of 4,000MT, making it one of the most prominent operations on the Asian continent.

To ensure complete safety and reliability, we’ve partnered with the highly-acclaimed Deepwater Corrosion team, reputed for developing the most accurate and cost-effective CP test station survey methodology.
This approach involves fitting RetroClamps onto unburied pipelines with special stab plates along 10 km intervals. This allows an ROV to take stab readings of the pipeline’s true potential rather than just relying on the anodes. The clamps are electrically connected to the pipeline together with a free corroding coupon drawing protection from the CP system. Stabbing the coupon yields a more accurate potential reading without damaging the pipeline’s coating.

To achieve the best results, we employ the Polatrack Deep-C-Meter. As the premier ROV cathodic-protection system for deep water, it fully integrates with ROV systems for the ultimate in power and data transfer. Alternatively, it also operates as a visual inspection unit, with no interface with the ROV umbilical cable. These units – rated for depths of down to 3,000 meters – are built and tested in Deepwater’s Houston manufacturing facility.
