The pipeline is a 16"" Oil Gathering trunkline between D35 field to Bayan field, from platform D35R-A to BYR-A which was installed originally in 1993. Most of the replacement work will take place at D35R-A, approximately 140km from Bintulu within Sarawak territorial waters. It is currently producing and will have a future tie in from E6.
The total length of the pipeline is 50.5km. Due to severe corrosion issue, PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) intends to perform sectional for PL-293 pipeline from hanger flange at D35R-A up until the first 2km. The water depth at the area is 47m. The actual pipeline replacement length shall be verified by survey prior to construction based on seabed conditions at proposed tie-in location at 2km to ensure safe operation of the pipeline and production from D35 of 18kbd and in future E6 of 10kbd can be achieved with minimal interruption.
