RIL is developing offshore gas fields in the deepwater offshore block KG-DWN-98/3 (more commonly called KG-D6) in Krishna Godavari Basin on the East Coast of India in the Bay of Bengal. The north western boundry of the block is about 40 - 60 km southeast of Kakinada. Water depth in the block area ranges from about 400m in the northwest to about 2300 m in the southeast. The currently producing fields within the KG-D6 block are Dhirubhai-1&3 (D1-D3) gas fields and Dhirubhai-26 (MA) oil, gas & condensate field. Other discoveries in the block are in various stages of development.
